29th Foundation Day of AAI observed; Tripura CS highlights development in Air Services

Agartala April 01: Tripura chief secretary J K Sinha anticipated a significant increase in air passenger numbers in the recent days while highlighting the significant development in air services of the state in recent years.
The state chief secretary was speaking on the eve of 29th Annual Day of Airports Authority of India at the MBB Airport, Agartala here on Monday.
“Tripura has witnessed a massive growth in connectivity over the last few years. The airport has been upgraded keeping in view future needs. With development of the airport the state has seen a remarkable increase in the number of air passengers”, said Sinha.
He added, “North East India’s second largest air cargo terminal was also inaugurated at this airport in Agartala, the largest such facility in the region after Guwahati”.
Greeting and congratulating the employees associated with the airport for their commendable work throughout the year, the chief secretary said, “Approximately more than 25 fly from this airport every day. I am grateful towards the employees here who are working hard to provide quality services to the passengers”.
A blood donation camp was also organized to commemorate the day. Besides, the chief secretary JK Sinha and IAP, Airport Director Kailash Chander Meena among other dignitaries also awarded several airport staff for their exemplary work, especially superior customer satisfaction.
